About me

I am Rob Snelders, a 26 years old Dutch guy. In 2005 I graduated as Bachelor Informatics at the Fontys Hogescholen in Eindhoven. Afterwards I studied Telematics at the University of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands. Currently I work at Brabantia as programmer. I was born and raised in the village called Oerle near Eindhoven.

My hobbies are computers, going out, magic and music.
I am a fan of open source software and use it a lot. I also make programs for fun. Further I like helping friends with their computers and sometimes like playing (old) games.
Once or twice a week i go to the pub to have a drink with some friends. It is a lot of fun and i like the ambiance and hopefully the (alternative) music.
I used to play a lot of Magic the Gathering. Those days are over but I still play it sometimes. But also other kind of card games witch I like also.
Without some good music I find it hard to learn or program. I like mostly Gothic and punk
A few years ago I was the treasurer of the foundation IAPC, a organisation with the goal to stimulate the use of computers on the University of Twente. The organisation tries that by having a non-profit IT-shop. This creates a rare situation and I have learned much there.

In 2004 I went to Curacao, Dutch Antilles, as a trainee for half a year. It was fantastic. I would advise everyone to see the world if you can. You will learn a lot if you are among people of another culture, and if you are there a long time you will get to know the place better and understand the people there better then when you only go there for a holiday. I am still grateful that I got that chance to see how live is over there.
